A first look of a brand new scene – based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – coming to Star Tours: The Adventures Continue has been teased.

This new scene will be added to all editions of the latest Star Tours all over the world coinciding with the global release of The Rise of Skywalker. With this new scene guests explore the ocean moon of Kef Bir, a location those familiar with the latest trailers for the upcoming film may be aware of.

“I know that many of you are as excited as I am about the December 20th film launch of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Today I’m equally excited to announce that on the same December date, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be adding new destinations inspired by the latest episode of the Star Wars saga” said Tom Fitzgerald, lead Imagineer to the addition of sequel trilogy scenes to Star Tours.

We’ll be sharing more details in the future, but for now I just wanted to say how super-excited we are that Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is continuing to live up to its name. As C-3PO would say, “Here we go again!””

The fan favourite Star Wars attraction has seen a number of additions and minor changes since dawn the sequel trilogy in 2015. Coinciding with The Force Awakens guests could find themselves alongside Finn and the Millennium Falcon in the Star Destroyer graveyard of Jakku. Two years later saw the addition of scenes featuring Crait from The Last Jedi and Batuu, the planet native to Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the next installment of the mammoth Star Wars franchise and set to close the sequel trilogy than began with Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm. Scheduled for release on 20th December it tells the concluding stories of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and the rest of the Resistance in their battle against Kylo Ren and the evil First Order.

News of a future new scene added to Star Tours based on Episode IX is not surprising, but a welcome one. Fans received confirmation that such a scene was in development all the way back in 2018 during Disney FanDaze. At the event, Walt Disney Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald mentioned his work on creating the then new Crait scene to the attraction, with plans to add another for the next installment of the ‘Skywalker Saga’.

Guests will be able to join in on one last adventure from Friday 20th December as the scene is added in Disneyland Paris as well as Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort.
