Disneyland Paris Assemble! The Marvel superheroes are returning once again for Marvel Season of Super Heroes from Saturday 23rd March until Sunday 16th June.
Making base in Walt Disney Studios Park, the season will see the return of Avengers and co. in a series of shows and meet & greets. Taking last year’s outing as a base model, changes, additions and improvements have been promised for this second mission.
Marvel Super Heroes United
Last year’s flagship show of the season will be returning once again in Studio Theater. The special effects heavy spectacle starring key Avengers such as Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Doctor Strange and Black Panther to name a few sees the team take on Thanos in a battle of their own inner identity as well as for the universe.
Several key maintenance fixes are set to be complete for the updated Super Heroes United along with a new lightshow and additional scenes involving all of the hero characters.
Star Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow!
Returning to the Production Courtyard Stage under a new subtitle, this year’s Stark Expo presentation welcomes new characters and music almost doubling in length.
The outdoor show will once again run several times a day and see Marvel heroes Black Widow, Thor and Spider-Man do battle against Asgardian mischievous Loki. Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow! will also see Captain Marvel join the Avengers ranks, right on the heels of her worldwide hit movie debut. It has also been confirmed that Steve Rogers’ old foe, the Red Skull, will be looking to defeat Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the midst of the action.
Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Dance-off
Put on your mean faces and get ready to party and join the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Dance-off! Another returning spectacle from 2018, the show sees Star-Lord and Gamora visiting Earth before calling onto you to help them save the day to the tune of classic rock and pop tunes.
New for Marvel Season of Super Heroes will be the addition of fan favourite sentient sequoia Groot. It’s currently unknown how many moves the well spoken Guardian will bust during the show, but hopefully Drax won’t be watching!
Debuting as part of Marvel Summer of Super Heroes last year the large statues symbolising some of the most iconic Avengers will be back. The oversized tributes to Black Panther, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk populated Production Courtyard and quickly became a guest and fan favourite as well as a very fun spot to pose for a photo with.
Just as the Avengers grow in their roster these titans of celebrations will be adding Captain Marvel with her very own statue. Those who visited Walt Disney Studios Park on International Women’s Day will recognise from the entrance of Studio 1 as it was first introduced to co-ordinate with the MCU film release.
Marvel isn’t Marvel without the iconic superheroes that populate it, and Season of Super Heroes wouldn’t be the same without character meets. Guests will once again have opportunity to pose for a photo with the First Avenger himself, Captain America. Meanwhile last year’s Signature Package exclusive Spider-Man will be swinging by for everyone to meet.
Brand new for 2019 however and making her Disneyland Paris debut is Captain Marvel. As her first solo movie is filling out cinemas to rave reviews, Carol Danvers shall be in the meet location next to Blockbuster Cafe throughout Marvel Season of Super Heroes. As a brand new superhero to the MCU and Walt Disney Studios Park, this is definitely a must do!
This is of course the second version of a Marvel season in Disneyland Paris. Last year saw Marvel Summer of Super Heroes take center stage as the flagship summer event for the resort with an impressive ad campaign. Although my thoughts on the season were mostly positive, I was able to point out several areas that needed improving.
