Marvel superhero and fan favourite Captain Marvel will be making her Disneyland Paris debut next year for Marvel Season of Super Heroes from 23rd March – 16th June 2019.
The news broke out of nowhere from the official Disneyland Paris Twitter accounts, announcing that Carol Danvers’ alter-ego will be part of next year’s superhero season.

This marks the second new Marvel superhero to be announced for next Spring’s season. It was announced along with the 2019 brochure that Groot will be appearing at the officially named Season of Super Heroes.
Captain Marvel will also be making a fly-by to meet guests of the Disney Cruise Line as part of their Marvel Day at Sea in 2019. The hero’s inclusion there was announced via the official Disney Parks Blog.
This is fantastic news! As a massive fan of both Marvel comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies Captain Marvel was by far my highest priority to characters I want to see join the already large roster of superheroes who descended upon Walt Disney Studios Park last summer.
The timing couldn’t be any more perfect, either. Captain Marvel’s big screen debut is set to release in March 2019 with her story continuing in the as of yet untitled Avengers sequel in May. Delays forbidding, this means that the MCU’s latest Avengers will be already saving the day and defeating foes when her name becomes synonymous with the general public next year.
Unfortunately no information has yet been announced whether or not she will be meeting guests during her stay for Marvel Season of Super Heroes. While I am very excited and the prospect of meeting Captain Marvel only would confirm reason for me to return to the season, it is still very possible she will be relegated to merely a show appearance or two.
Personally, I think a meet and greet with the new superhero will happen given how well Disneyland Paris have been with company synergy of late. The past year has seen the likes of Manuel from Coco and the Incredibles meeting guests either just before or during the release of their respectful latest movies. Art of Disney Animation has become the primary location for the latest and/or most relevant Disney character meets. Having Captain Marvel encounter guests here seems almost inevitable given the excellent timing with her debut. This would also help expand the physical footprint of Marvel Season of Super Heroes, something I feel is a must for 2019.
Who is Captain Marvel?
Carol Danvers, better known as her alter-ego Captain Marvel, is the latest Marvel superhero to join not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe and soon Marvel Season of Super Heroes at Disneyland Paris.
Although her full cinematic biography is yet unknown, there is plenty to know about the latest Avenger. Debuting all the way back in 1968, Danvers has a whole host of superpowers including superhuman strength and even flight. Much like that of Iron Man or Captain America, Captain Marvel too is an integral part of the Avengers team in the comics and is set to soon follow that same leadership on the big screen.
Next year, Captain Marvel makes her cinematic debut with her own movie, portrayed by Academy Award winning actress Brie Larson. Set in the 1990’s the film will introduce the character as well as her backstory to the Marvel Cinematic Universe before she returns again for the sequel to the incredible Avengers: Infinity War.
